DEPARTMENT NORMS ANALYSIS (DNA)

This survey will be done for all staff (management and non management) which is meant to identify the various norms of behavior that influences effectiveness and job satisfaction of staff. By measuring norms in 6 categories to see whether they are positive or negative, your organisation can develop its own “normative profile”. This will be used for initiating changes in work-group norms and behavior.

The 6 categories are:

  • Organizational/Personal Pride
  • Performance/Excellence
  • Teamwork/Communication
  • Leadership/Supervision
  • Colleague/Associate Relations
  • Candour/Openness

The DNA would be able to give information which is completely unbiased, objective to know where your team stands in respect of 6 different categories. This would be a snap shot of the entire organisation and is great information to start initiating change in sub groups.

ORGANISATIONAL READINESS INVENTORY

Models for business are abound today. Most business people can probably name two or three off the top of their heads. These models serve a valuable purpose – to help an organization paint a picture of it’s future, it’s optimum state. As any person concerned with performance knows, however, this portrait is only half the picture. A clear snapshot of what the organization looks like now is necessary in order to have something to compare with the optimum future. The ORI is a means of doing this. The ORI provides seven categories by which an organization can measure its current state and define an optimal future state. This model establishes seven key categories of concentration that an organization should have a handle on in order to be successful. These categories are strategy, structure, staff, style, shared values and skills. The ORI provides a systematic way to find out how the organization assesses itself based on the seven categories i.e. the ‘voice’ of the organization. The ‘voice’ of the organization, for our purposes, refers to the amalgam of thoughts and opinions of the members of the organization. The ‘voice’ of the organization reflects what the individual feels and believe internally. The ORI also provides an extensive list of diagnostic questions that performance improvement specialist could use to guide an audit.

LEADERSHIP PRACTICES INVENTORY

This survey translates the actions that make up five practices of exemplary leadership into behavioral statements. The Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) lends quantitative evidence to the qualitative data provided by personal-best leadership case studies. The LPI consists of thirty statements that address the essential behaviors found when people report being at their personal best as leaders. It is also accurate as it is a 360 degree individual survey which breaks behavioural statements into exact detail from four different perspectives i.e. self, higher management, subordinate and co-worker.
